“If you want to know what you believe, just look at your life.”
I’ve always believed that we live into our beliefs. If I believe that my body is meant to get stiff and disease ridden as I age, I just might sit down and wait for that to happen. However, if I believe that a body can stay limber and healthy, I just might participate in activities that will support such an outcome. (Insert applause.)
But, and this is a big but, we sometimes don’t always recognize our beliefs. And we sometimes believe, wrongly, that what we believe was something we thought out and decided to believe. Are you getting as confused as I am with this logic? It’s my logic and it’s confusing me!
Hang in there, Buddy!
It’s seems that our beliefs are instilled in us by our parents – who really meant well, our teachers – who were just following a lesson plan, our friends – who just happened to cross our path in life, and media – designed to sell us products that could be attached to beliefs that they also sell us! Whew!
And then she asked, do I do things, repeatedly, to support these beliefs that probably aren’t even mine? That would be living in my comfort zone. Is this too much to think about before my second cup of coffee?
That’s better. And if this, “Ask and you shall receive” is at all true, I’m sure that help is on the way! So what would you ask for?
