“Travel calories don’t count.”
This summer, and other summers in the past, I’ve been blessed with the gift of a visit to friends in Canada. The trips are stuffed with visions and experiences. There are visions of the morning developing over the lake they live in. No, that’s not a typo. They live on an island which would be, in my world, “in” a lake.
Here comes the sun!
The days are filled with activities. Wrong. The days are filled with quiet and conversations and chocolates and cooking and walks in the woods and chocolates and cheese and cracker snacks and chocolates and games and quiet. Did I mention … That’s right. I did. See above quote.
Today were heading off in their boat. We’re going to see water and trees and birds and other surprises from nature. My task is to remain open and to breathe. This is a far cry from my day to day to-do list. I always return home after my time away ready to begin again, but maybe at a slower more thoughtful pace.
Evening. Goodnight sun!
Time for one more piece chocolate. It helps me sleep. Really!
