“Life is like underwear. Change is good.”
Some of you have probably noticed that the tag line for this blog has changed. It used to specify “lo-carb” but now it simply says “food”. Food and life with an attitude.
So what’s with that? Am I eating a high carb diet? Don’t I care about the world? Breathe, Sweetie. I’ve decided that terms like lo-carb are really not definable in a way that would get everyone to agree. So I’m going to lean toward the advice of Michael Pollan, who’s eating advice is simply to eat food, not too much, and mostly vegetables.
If you’ve not read any of Pollan’s books it’s time. I’d like to tell you my favorite but I’ve learned something from all of them. Why not start with, “In Defense of Food”. That’s a goodie.
So the rules for this blog are changing. I’m going concentrate on foods that are easy, delicious, and freezable. After all, I like days off when I can simply pull something from the freezer. I’m also going to be posting some of my art work and, as always, my opinions.
The next section of recipes is going to focus on soups. My world is morphing into fall and I really enjoy a hot bowl of soup with some cheese and crackers on the side when the weather begins to turn cool. And soup is so easy to freeze for other days!
Just remember to label and date the jars. You are freezing in jars, aren’t you? First cool the food in the fridge and remember to leave, at least, an inch of clearance space for expansion. Good job!
