LIGHTEN UP

“So we were lying in bed.  He turns to me and smiles.  He asks, ‘What would you like to do to my body?’  Apparently, ‘Identify it’ was the wrong answer.”

One would think that as a woman enters her “mature” years she would cultivate the personality of a mature woman.  One would sometimes be wrong.  On the other hand, I’m not quite sure how a mature woman is supposed to act … obviously.

I do know that what I most appreciate about my life are the people who remind me to lighten up.  My husband is an expert at this.

Sunday morning – normal start to the day.  Coffee and quiet. Just the way like it.  Suddenly, I have a bloody nose.  It’s rather profuse.  Where did that come from!

I went to my husband who told me to put pressure on the site.  He told me to sit up in the recliner and rest for a bit.  I asked if he could bring me my coffee.  He did, and then took the throw off the sofa and put it on my lap, making me comfy.

As he was checking the area to see if I had everything I needed he asked, “This isn’t going to delay lunch, is it?”  Love it!

Later on, doing research on what could have caused this interruption to my morning, I found that most such nose events are caused by either dry air or by, as they put it so delicately on the Internet, picking your nose.

All God’s children got a nose!

I also learned that this is a most common condition in young children up to about the age of ten, and seniors from the ages of 60 to 80.  It also stated that this generally happens in the morning.  “You only have five more years to worry about this,” my husband said when I shared this information.

My husband also said he’s going to get a humidifier for the furnace.  We’ll lose the dry air.  Hopefully, he’ll never lose his sense of humor.  It makes my day!
