GOLDEN MILK – SINGLE SERVING

“Annoying the cook will result in smaller portions.”

One of my friends was once, as part of a team, researching black pepper.  He talked about what they were discovering.  Recently, I came across more research (see: is that really true!?) about turmeric and ginger and black pepper that’s supposed to be a killer combination when it comes to staying young and healthy and irresistible.  I made up that irresistible part.  Sorry.

This brought to mind a drink recipe from yesteryear.   It’s called Golden Milk and  contains those three ingredients – turmeric, ginger, and black pepper.  Yummy etc.  The problem was, my recipe made a bunch of paste that was the base of the beverage and ready for immediate and future use.  The bad news?  Sometimes the future use stash ended up forgotten and languishing in the back of the fridge.  Internet to the rescue.  I found a recipe for a single serving of Golden Milk.  Happy dance!  Or maybe too much coffee this morning.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups milk, cow or nut or seed.  I’m doing almond milk

1 t turmeric

1/2 t cinnamon

pinch of black pepper

1/4 t grated ginger or ginger powder, more or less to taste

1 t honey or a few drops of stevia

pinch of cayenne, optional

DISTRUCTIONS:

Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth.  Warm in a saucepan for 3 to 5 minutes.  The goal is hot but not boiling.

Drink.

GOLDEN MILK

Caution:  This drink has been known to cause a deep state of relaxation.  A great evening drink.

You can do your own research on Golden Milk.  Perhaps you’ll find your own favorite recipe.
