“We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”  Aristotle

Tonight my husband and I embarked on an amazing adventure, unbeknownst to my husband.  In the last month I’ve heard a talk show about a burger that’s completely plant based.  I’ve also been bombarded by information about the virtues of eating plans that are heavy on the fruits and veggies, i.e., a plant based diet.

Lo and behold, which I think would be a good name for a law firm or religious congregation, I came upon these plant based burgers on my last trip to Whole Foods.

Because they came two to a package I knew the gods were telling me that it should be a meal for my husband and me.  I told my sweet, unsuspecting husband we were having burgers for dinner.  They’d have to be on toast because it’s been snowing FOREVER and I wasn’t leaving the house to get hamburger buns.

Directions with the pre-shaped patties were simple.  Hot pan.  Three minutes on each side.  Don’t overcook.

This is another case of, “Wait!  Let me get a picture of that before you finish eating it!” Husband obliged.  I’m a fast eater.  Mine was already gone.  My husband was not aware that his burger was plant based and not beef.

We agreed.  This plant based burger could fool a meat eater.  It was simple to make and delicious.  Meat substitutes from the past had a long way to go.  I think they’re getting there!
