“Keep looking up … That’s the secret of life.” Snoopy
More about a visit with my brother… We went to the “Gardens” in the nearby city. The outdoor part of the garden was inhabited by visitors who didn’t know it was winter. They walked around in the freezing weather chatting and smiling. I judged them as idiots.
We, however, walked around in an enclosed dome that was home to a plethora of tropic plants and some birds. It was just after the holidays and there was a sign up saying that the quails had been removed from the enclosure due to some lame excuse. I think someone ate them for the holidays.
(Attitude adjustment. I need sunshine and more coffee!)
When we first arrived at the tropical dome it was overrun with small people, generally known as children. They were using their outdoor voices as the indoor dome looked like the out-of-doors. Blessedly, they soon left.
I was walking around looking at everything in front of my when for some reason, or for no reason, I looked up. There, near the top of the dome, was a lone flower at the top of a huge tree.
We walked around on the different paths and at different levels to see if there were other flowers on this tree or if we could see this particular flower from a different angle. The answers are no and no.
Right now I’d like to say something profound or at least intelligent. That isn’t going to happen. Instead, I’m going to go and get another cup of coffee. Maybe I should just remember to keep on the lookout for beauty and keep looking up. Whoa! I almost slipped into semi-profound and intelligent!
