“To be underestimated is a great power.”

I found this recipe for a ranchish style dressing that sounds a bit healthy.  Also, it’s made of readily available ingredients.  Winner, winner!


1/4 cup Brazil nuts

1/4 cup cashews

celery, small stalk

1 clove garlic

1T dried parsley

1 T fresh or dehydrated dill

1 t garlic powder

1/4 t celery seeds

1/4 t salt

juice of 1 lemon

1/4 to 1/2 cup water


Blend together all the ingredients in a blender except the water.  Slowly add the water until a desired consistency is reached.


Store your marvelous creation in a jar.  This dressing will keep in the fridge for about a week.

This was way too easy.  I’m into easy.  I continue to find easy ways to get healthy ingredients into my meals without a lot of equipment.  I once more want to bring to the stage the Ninja chopper.  I recently decided that I wanted fennel in my diet because it’s a vegetable that I love.

However, (here she goes!) it was such a daunting task to slice fennel really thin without losing any of my fingertips.  But, if I toss a few thinnish chunks into the Ninja with some baby kale I get a lovely nest for a fruit salad.

I hope you also have and enjoy a Ninja.  It makes healthy eating so much easier.  And as mother always said, “Never pet a burning dog.”  She always said that.  Mother drank too much coffee too!
