“Many a false step was made by standing still.”  Fortune Cookie

The other day we were at one of our favorite restaurants with the kids and some of the grandkids.  We were celebrating my birthday!  Happy Birthday To Me!!

Shortly after our food was served, about three bites into the feast, my husband turned his back to me and sat very still.  I asked him if there was something wrong.  He didn’t answer.  Instead, he fell back into a dead faint.  This knocked me into my oldest son.  Bedlam ensued.

It was a scene out of a movie with my daughter working her way quickly through the restaurant asking LOUDLY, “Is there a doctor here?!”  There was.  Also an EMT.  We were beneficiaries of the kindness of strangers.

Yes, the ambulance was called and 24-hours with emergency personal revealed that a) my husband needed his hypertension meds adjusted to lower doses, and b) my husband needed his diet tweaked.  It seems that, for some reason, eating caused him to pass out.  There is a fancy name for the condition and it’s not all that rare.

Fainting goat.  Fainting is normal for them.

A solution, after experimentation, was found.  Sugar needs to come out of my husband’s diet.  He also needs to eat lo-carb with six small meals spread throughout the day.  Each meal needs to be preceded with a large glass of water.   I pack his lunch.  It’s going to be an interesting adventure.

I just found a recipe for a sandwich wrap that has only 1 net carb for two of these puppies.  Puppies generally do not faint.  Recipe tomorrow.
