“Focus on the positive.”
This is another in the series of – What you focus on expands. Here we go again!
My husband decided we needed a swing for our deck. The swing is on a frame, seats three, and has an awning. It’s lovely. For some reason I began going out to the swing with my coffee right after my shower. Previously, pre-swing purchase, I’d take my coffee to my computer and jump right into the day.
My whole life has changed because of this! (The previous statement is a fabrication. Just want to see if you’re paying attention.) Anyway, even though we live in a residential area, the swing is situated so it faces one of the few empty lots in town. My view?
It looks like I’m in the woods. I spend about a half hour listening to the birds sing and the squirrels screech. The neighborhood cats come to visit. We talk and share our plans for the day.
I could also position the swing to face a different direction. Here are two of the optional views available to me.
Like I said, residential.
Even though this new morning ritual involves a physical point of view, it got me thinking about the mental points of view that I focus on. Not sure where this train of thought is going. Maybe I’ll talk with my visiting cats. I’ll see what they have to say about this.
