“He who laughs last thinks slowest.”
Was perusing the library the other day, in order to get away from my cats, I came across a book that appealed to me. How lowbrow was is?
It’s a book written by Lena Dunham, creator of the HBO series, Girls, which means nothing to me as I spend little time in front of the TV. However, the book showed promise of amusement.
No, this is not the cover of the book. This is an inner page which I found more interesting than the cover. Diving right in, the book begins with a section on Love & Sex. Not for the squeamish.
Another section on Work contains a promising essay called, “This is Supposed to be Fun? Making the Most of Your Education” I can’t wait. I’m not to the Work section yet but am almost through the Love & Sex section, having just read “Girls and Jerks”. OK. Men, and people with good literary taste, probably won’t enjoy this book quite as much as I.
I would give this book three thumbs up and recommend it for summer reading. Copyright on this book is 2014. As if that matters. Check your library to see if they might have a copy. You can also get this book on Amazon, regular or Kindle, where a lot of people talk about what a terrible book this was and a waste of money and the author is terribly self-absorbed. So much for my English major!
