“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”  Nelson Mandela

So I had this great idea!  (Note to self – Your great ideas generally get you into trouble.)  No!  This time it is a great idea.  This great idea came from the observation that in spite of all the cooking I do, company takes me right to panic land.  Suddenly, I have no idea what to serve.  My mind goes blank.  The same goes for weekends when my husband is home for a number of meals and I want to appear competent.  Good luck!

So my idea is to take recipes that have proven to be successful and print them out in two columns.  Column one would be the recipe and column two would be the needed ingredients.

It would look something like this.

A quick scan of the ingredient list would tell me what belongs on my shopping list and, using my incredible memory, what ingredients I already have on hand.  (I’m in trouble!)

Fifteen to twenty recipes should about do it.  Hopefully, this will keep me from serving the same six things over and over.  Winner?  We’ll see.
