FOOD RUT

“We are what we repeatedly do.”

I have a confession to make.  I get into food ruts.  I make a simple food that I find delicious and end up making that same food everyday for a week or two.  These foods are generally not just simple but also require almost no cooking.  My newest food rut is the rollup.

This is not all bad, except if you’re writing a food blog and every recipe is a rollup for a week or two.  How much change can there be?  “Today you could add mustard and dried parsley!” I might enthuse. But people would catch on.

My latest rollup rut starts with plant based meat with a bit of cheese.  I couldn’t decide if I wanted Havarti or goat cheese so I did both.  Microwave for 45 seconds.

ru1To bring this piece to full glory I covered this beginning with dill sauerkraut and added a flourish of ketchup.

Does it get any better than this?!

This was actually quite delicious.  After its zap phase I slipped it out of the microwave onto a styrofoam plate and added the last two ingredients.  After rolling and consuming I rinsed off the plate to save it for another day.  No other dishes to deal with.

I promise not to inflict another rollup on you unless I come up with something glorious.  Rollups!  Just living the dream!
