“You could already be a winner!”
Back to the music event with brother Dan. First, you need to know that I’m older than Dan. He was a young tyke when I went off and got married. We never really got to know each other. Going to this music festival together, two years in a row, is changing that.
Seems we have the same taste in certain subjects and books. Our discussions are wonderfully interesting. Our perspectives on our family are similar enough to recognize ourselves as siblings but different enough to enjoy the way the pieces fit together. And my brother is crazy.
OK. Crazy might be too strong a word. My brother is slightly crazy. His sense of humor is always near the surface and wonderfully twisted. Case and point.
We were sitting on the side waiting for the next presentation to begin when two lovely women walked by and asked about the tapestries hanging around the perimeter of the hall. Dan told them that they were for sale and pointed out the booth where they could make a purchase.
As they were walking away Dan called after them, “And don’t forget the raffle for the hunting dog!” Things like this simply pop out of his mouth. No, this event had nothing to do with hunting and there was no raffle. “Hunting dog!?” one of them said.
Dan amazes me with his quick wit. He even has the ability to leave me speechless. Now that’s something, as my husband will attest, that’s an amazing ability!
