“Your body should be your temple, not a bouncy castle.”
So how have we been treating our body lately, I asked myself, using the royal “we”. And now with the seasons changing and the sun making itself scarce it might be a good idea for me to focus on those good old fruits and veggies a little more.
Fortunately, there are supermarkets that are really super. They offer chopped and triple washed kale. And I own a Kitchen Aid, which is the perfect kitchen appliance to massage kale for me while I do important things, like
play computer solitaire read an inspiring book.
Today I decided to upgrade and simplify my usual kale and green grape salad. Take a look!
4 or more cups kale, chopped and triple washed
1 cup green grapes, halved
1 to 2 T tahini
1 apple, diced
Beat the kale to within an inch of its life in your Kitchen Aid, or massage it in a large bowl while you sing a happy song. The grapes can also go in at this point.
Massage or mix in the tahini. Toss in the apple last minute. Enjoy!
This makes a perfect meal with a side of raisin bread topped with some creamy goat cheese. This also makes a perfect meal because my husband does not like any of the aforementioned foods, except for a few apple slices that I set out for him, so I have this meal all to myself.
Good thinking, Grandma Pat. You’re not just a pretty face!
